Poetry Friday: Winter

Winter

Ziye (c. 265-420)

When ice on the pond is three feet thick

and white snow stretches a thousand miles,

my heart will still be like the pine and cypress,

but your heart--what will it be?

The pine and cypress stay green, alive, strong, all through winter. May this be true of you.
